Just picked up a 2009 EGC. It does not have security. I found this to be a nice feature on my last bike. Has anyone added this feature to their bikes and if so what is the approximate cost?
My local dealer will install the security for 345.00. That's parts & labor. You can install it yourself I hear but the dealer still has to activate it. That's why I let them do it. The siren was extra.

$345 for me as well. Had it done right when I got the bike.
I just read the parts catalog about the security system. It doesn't say any thing about having the dealer activate it. My wife is picking up her 09 Softail Delux on Friday and I was going to put the security system on it for her. Any body out there have more info on this? tia....

my bike had the security on it when I bought it. I had the dealer add the siren ( approx. 100$ Cdn.)
I also got the remote fob...( extra 100$ ) well worth it.

When I bought my Herritage it didn't come with security, so I bought the module and installed it myself...bike wouldn't start. That's when I learned that the dealer needed to "RETEACH" the computer for the new module.
