Default whine at 38-48 mph

It started about a week ago. Since I had 33,000 miles on the front tire I figured that was it. Replaced front and rear tire with Dunlap elite3's. Still have the wine. I rode about 10 miles at 48 mph, that's when it is the loudest, can't figure it out. Since I am deaf in my left ear I have no sense of direction. I also had the wheel bearings checked when I had the new tires installed. Replaced the rear brakes but the front was still good, original brakes, 33,000 miles on them also.
any ideas?

Drive faster....

Try adjusting the clutch cable, se if it disappears or at least changes the pitch...
I believe others were complaining about 5th gear whining...

Other then that not sure... I only have 500 miles on mine....

Drive at 78 MPH, get there faster and don't hold up traffic.

I used to have that same whine at that speed also. Then one day I down shifted and accelerated hard and the noise went away. I never bothered going back to pick her up either!

(sorry, couldn't resist)

That is funny.

I am at lost with this one. I usually can find a noise easy. By having limited hearing I can feel things very easy, been this way for a lot of years.
Around 38 mph it starts slightly and at 48 mph it is very noticeable. At 50 mph and above no noise at all. After another ride I have ruled out the tire and bearings, for now.

Is it in any one gear like 3rd or 4th gear at that speed? Try shifting up or down into another gear at the speed where the sound is and see if it is gear specific, but I'm fishing.

Is the noise there if you pull in the clutch or is it only under load?

What are you running for lube in the trans? I am guessing it is a 07 to 09,could be primary auto adjuster issue also.

Picked up my 09 SG last week (I know, no pics yet) and it has a whine/chirp as well. Sounds like coming from the front, poss a mild exhaust leak??? Stops with the clutch in. It'll be going in to the dealer for a service next week, but I'm sure they would accept suggestions as well.
