A buddy of mine has an '08 Ultra Classic and is unhappy with the throttle tension. He'd like to loosen it up a bit because his hand/wrist gets sore on long rides. Is there a way to do this?
Gonna have jump on the cruise control bandwagon here as well. Went on my first long distance ride with cc over the 4th of July weekend. Not sure how I ever lived without it for the last 15 years. But to answer your question; I do not know of anyway to change the tension on the TBW bikes.
I can't find one in the service manual. I would love to tighten mine up. Mine is so loose I hate it. Have to use my thumg against the housing to create my own friction....
Or get a throttle boss that he can lean his palm on.
Or a set of Kury Grips with the throttle boss installed.
I have that and cruise.
He probably needs to loosen up his grip. You hold it too tight, after a while you get pain (no comments from the peanut gallery).
If I remember correctly, there is a spring controlling the tension in the TBW induction module in the handlebar. There may be a way to replace that spring.
