I currently have an 07' Limited Edition Low Rider, but I don't know, the closer I get to going home, the more I'm looking at Street Glides.
I have the itch real bad and am hoping that when I get home next month and do some riding, the itch goes away otherwise, I'm afraid I'm going to do something I'll probably regret...
Ok so try this.. get the glide classic . why because it has a trunk and you may want one later.. then get all the detachable stuff for the trunk and a sissy bar and backrest for your passengers and then all thats left is a zillion other accessories.. I do like the sg rear ends though but i also have the option of a trunk !
this makes the most economic sense, the street glide rear and turn signals are less than a tour pak. The first thing I did when I got my SG (since sold) was add some lights -- I could not see chit at night with just the one headlight -- here in GA was do not have many street lights once you get out of the cities

Since you can't do anything about it right now anyway, enjoy the deliberation and the anticipation of what you'll do when you get home. Time spent thinking about motorcycles isn't deducted from your allotted time on earth. Besides, given your present situation, thinking about bikes is bound to be therapeutic.
Whatever decision you eventually make, don't make it based upon economic sense or logic. All valid long term motorcycle decisions are emotional decisions and any attempt to rationalize or justify them is useless. You need to end up with the one that "talks to you", and if that's your Low Rider then you'll be a happy camper. If you end up with a Classic in order to save a few bucks on a Tour Pak you won't be happy, you won't keep it very long, and it will end up costing you more in the long run.
Electra Glide Classic is nice. I was torn between it and a SG. I got the SG. The difference is more than the rearend. You would have to lower the EGC as well and remove all that crap around the bags.
