Yada yada. I bought a new 2007 Electra Glide Classic in 2006 cuz it was the 'smart' thing to do financially. I really wanted a Street Glide.
Well last October, I finally gave in and bought a 2009 Street Glide, cuz that's what I reallly wanted all along. Yeah, I paid extra for fairing lowers, a better seat and a tour pak. But I have my Street Glide, not an EGC or Ultra that's been stripped down to look like one.
I couldn't be happier. I really have the bike I wanted all along.
When I bought my SG, I was wondering if I made the right choice being the added cost and all especially considering it was my first Harley. 1 year later, while I'd like to have other H-D's (hey, a guy can dream), the Street Glide was the bike for me being I ride solo. Doubt you would regret buying any touring bike. Especially if you do lots of long runs as I do.
