Default '06 EG EFI hiccup?

I've been experiencing a hiccup after I let off the throttle as I approach a stop on a decline. The bike will idle down and all of a sudden will hiccup or surge forward. The dealer replaced the air intake seal on the EFI shortly after I bought the bike. This did not provide a solution for this problem. Is this a common phenomenon with the V-twin engine? The odometer is reading 965 miles.

On my StreetGlide when letting off the throttle, as it passes through 1,800 rpm the bike surges. The dealer told me "They all do this." Is this what's happening? Personally I find it very annoying and not very safe.

What gear is this happening in and what speed are you going?
My bike doesn't pull smoothly under idle conditions and will buck and jump if clutch is engaged, esp going down or up hill. Seems normal to me. V-twins typically do that at idle. Don't know if that's the issue or not.

Mine does it, and from what I've read here, most EFI TC88's are doing it. Not sure how many years,
mine's '06. I just did pipes, fuelpak, big sucker...Still doin' it. It's never happened to me in a turn though. I believe it's some sort of a glitch in the EFI program/mapping.
My best advise...Always be mindful and ready for it.

I'm also experiencing this with my 06 FLHTI but usually it's only when downshifting from second to first on an incline just after blipping the throttle to match the revs. I believe it's just the computer having a hiccup since the efi system has the throttle position sensor to deal with as well as all the other sensors. I had a similar issue with my 03 Triumph Speed Triple and it was the same problem since the EFI system had 7 sensors to deal with and if you blipped the throttle it couldn't make the switch in the injectors to compensate since it happened so quickly. I'm having my 1000 mile service this coming tuesday and I'm going to ask the mechanics if it's something with the efi system and I'll let you know what they say.

A tuning issue, bike should NEVER surge/cough and this should'nt be considered normal/common. PCIII, pipes, air kit, dyno tune will get you MUCH better performance/rideability/enjoyment.

Mine did the same thing. Dealer acted like they did not even care. Ordered a PC111 and problems solved.

I had the same problem....I had a stage one done with a flash...then on warmer days I'd she'd miss at every light I came to.

I went back to servicing dealer who said the flash was for SE mufflers and not V+H's. I then asked him why they sold it to me instead of the PCIII. Guy told me the PCIII is worthless without a dyno job-which their shop doesn't have. I was pissed. Bought a PCIII from EasternPerformance and haven't had the problem since.

I am in need of a dyno to work out some popping on decel...but the PCIII solved the other issue.
