Default Flickering Lights

I have an 05 RK FLHPI. Recently while idling I've noticed all of the lights dim, and when I Rev up the engine the lights get brighter. Is this normal. I've only had the bike a few months. Can someone please give me some idea of what is going on, or what may be causing this?

Thanks to all in advance.

Check your battery connections first.....

Clean and tight.....

Then check your connections at the stator and voltage regulator.....

On the surface it sounds like your alternator/regulator may not be putting out whats needed. I'd have the system load tested to make sure yours is putting out the amps it should. Sometimes a bad battery can drag down an alternator as well.

A friend's dad used to say that 90% of the problems in the world are caused by women, the other 10% by dirty battery posts. Clean the battery posts and check all the connections. If that don't work- then start looking into the charging system.

Just like what Bob says.

Do the simple things first. Check battery connections, the two ground connections under the seat, etc...

In the past I've f*cked away hours looking for a bad connection, while the whole time it was a fuse. Don't tell my boss that.

Sooo... How many miles on your ride? Most likely a bad connection or a bad ground. Yes check your battery post connections then follow the cables to where they bolt down and check them also for corrosion and loose-ness. The reason I ask about the milage is the 8000 mile regulator/module failure that is sooo common on modern Harleys.
