Hey guys, just installed a set of wild pigs and I have a question for anybody that has them. Is there supposed to be slots cut in the muffler where the clamp slides on like regular mufflers? My mufflers came with no slots in them and I had to cut some in order to get the left side pipe to tighten. No big deal, just wondering if thats the way there supposed to be. These are great sounding mufflers by the way, for the price you can't beat them. However I think I will sell them to my freind, because I had V&H ovals on before them and I think the ovals sound slightly better and maybe a little quiter, but hardly any difference the two. I have had sreamin eagles (loud and blatty) B&E superflows ( not as loud but tinny) and S&S SPO'S (deep sound Quiot but to big for my taste.) So if anybodys sittin on the fence on slipons the pigs sound great for the bucks, only slightly behind the V&H which cost considerably more. If nothing else I hope I can save somebody some money because I have invested a small fortune in slipons!
B4 you sell the pigs to a friend--do yourself a favour--get some extra wrap for the baffles and double wrap them (2 pieces per baffle). I did this, and the sound mellowed alot--but still has a great BARK when I twister.
Ive had Wild Pigs on 2 bikes over the last 4 years and constantly get compliments on them!
Well I wouldn't say I'am not satisfied, but I find reading muffler reviews on this site can get expensive! Bounty Hunters pipes sure look cool but by the sounds of it there loud. I have a ultra so I think it kinda defeats the purpose to have super loud pipes on a long haul cruiser. Pigs are a great sounding muffler and the baffles were supposed to be double wrapped (got the advice from Pez before, thanks!) but my bud has a new ultra coming in the end of the month and he needs some mufflers for it. I guess a guy could always start a muffler shrine!
I installed Pigs on my FLHT. Love the sound and look, but have alot of popping on decel. I put the SE slip-ons back on and very little popping. Has SE Stage 1. What's the cause and whats the cure of the popping with the Pigs.
Thanks Steve
