Same here.. why break your back when the motor will do the work
I have both lifts, I use the direct lift in my garage as it does get parked on and has a bit more grip. The other is in the basement for long term projects. I cant see spending the extra $$ for the handy after using the direct lift

I have 4 Direct Lifts. The best feature is the diamond plate. Bolts & nuts stay put, even if you bump them while lying down tools. The Handy is a nice lift, but over priced and over rated and they get VERY slick with wet tires, spilled oil, or any bike coming in out of the rain.
Have had my handy for 12 yrs now. Yes it is slipery when wet the non-skid thing works do it..buy the extentions they really are worth it. In my opinion, the Handy lift is one of the pioneers of the table lifts and still one of the best! Go for it! Scooter
