Default Lift table usability questions

Tried searching but all I can find is to buy this or that lift table. After researching and reading all I can I know what table I want, however, there are 2 questions that I cannot find a lot of info on.

1. Are the high lift tables worth the extra money? Most seem to lift 33" with the high lifts going up to 43". Worth the extra money for those of you with experience using the high lifts? Easier to work on bike? Less tiresome since it is higher?

2. Side extensions. If you have them do you really use them often or or they stored somewhere. Do they make it easier to get bike on the lift? Do you use them with the bike or just with ATV's and mowers, etc? Worth the extra $200 plus?

Looking forward to your opinions and experience before I plunk down my hard earned cash.

Don't think the higher lift is worth it. Either way you will working from a stool for service under the bike.

Side panels make it much easier to ride bike onto lift. Most people just push bike onto lift. You can make side panels out of 2x12s on top of verticle 2x6s for maybe $30 max. But you still have to store the damn things.

I've been using the 33" lift w/out side panels for years. Works great and lasts a long time.

Lift height depends on what type of work you are doing, also ceiling height may be a factor.
I leave the extensions on mine most of the time.

There are stops for different heights
I use the extensions for keeping tools around and 4-wheelers

IMHO, the extra height is worth the money. The side extensions are nice for 4 wheelers and mowers, but we never use them for the bikes.

Hope this helps.

I turn my side extensions upside down and use them as tool trays.

Mine lifts 33 in and I don't find it a problem at all. If i'm doing a lot of work on the lower side I just you one of those shop stools and sit on it. I never have put the side extensions, if I need them mine has holes through each side where you stick a pipe through it and just use some 2x6 or something like that. I have always been able just to push bike onto it with np. Also make sure you get a good wheel clamp for it to

Thanks guys for the opinions. I was thinking the extra height would be beneficial as there would be less stooping and bending but really wasn't sure as I have not worked on a lift much before.

Looking forward to hearing more.

High lift isn't needed, unless your 6'-5" or taller, but the side extensions are nice to have.
I park my bike on the lift, so it's nice to just ride up and put the kickstand down.

I made some side extensions out of wood I had laying around so the cost was nothing. They are great for riding the bike onto the lift but they are in the way when working on the bike - you can't get as close.

As for the height, mine lifts a little over 30" although the highest mechanical stop is right at 30". That's always been high enough for me.
