I built some wooden side extensions for my table and use a pipe as noted above. Once it's in the air I push the boards out of the way unless there is a 4 wheeler being serviced.
Bought out lift bare except for vise.Added our own side extensions 8" on each side that stay on the table all the time.Without the side extensions would never be able to reach the floor while riding onto the lift.Ours is just right for height at 30 something inches.We had to add 1 foot at each end to support our Boss Hoss V8 motorcycle.
I don't really care about the extra height but on occiasion the side extensions would be nice. I have been thinking about building extensions but never got around to it.
