I've own both and love them both. Its kind of funny, I thought I would really enjoy the radio of my SG, but I hardly ever turn it on. I guess because I use my SG to get away from the rat race and the radio is part of that, I don't know. I miss the ability to take off my windshield but really like the looks of the SG. I think the RK has less turbulent air on the rider than the SG and the Leather bags on the RKC holds more stuff and is easier to use. I do like the lowered look of the SG.

Its a hard choice, but you will not be disapointed in either bike.

Geez, all beautiful bikes in the pics, glad I'm not the only one torn or was at one time. I'm gonna wait for the 10's to come out but if there isn't that much of a difference, I know the 09's will be on sale. I really like the apes on the RKC's. I think I need to take both for a cruise. Keep the input coming. Anyone with wide whites on a SG?

I agree about the radio, but I sure do like playing my iPod through the 6 Hogtunes speakers.

I just bought the '09 RKC for many of the same reasons as have been mentioned. Versatility won the day for me. You can even get a fairing and a radio if you want it. It can be whatever you want it to be.

Almost bought an '09 RKC that was on eBay. Teal and white and had matching hard bags. Had a lowered rear end and Street Glide effects on the rear fender and between the fender and bags. It was a sweet ride. I didn't bid enough. Wish I'd have kept a picture. It was really good looking.

I've got the RK Custom (dummies don't make 'em anymore) that is 1 - 1 1/2" lower than the standard Road King and I don't really have any problems with bottoming out. I do scrape the boards but who doesn't?

The King is so versatile. I transform mine from a touring cruiser to a stripped bar hopper in minutes. My vote Road King. Is my partiality showing?

Won't go wrong with either scoot, I traded an 06 Heritage in on an 09 SG. The RKC looks sweet, but I wanted a fairing (I rarely took the windscreen off my Heritage) and the additional gauges the SG offered. Also figured, if I got an RK, why would I be trading in my Heritage when they look similar and I don't think the ride is so vastly superior that it would justify the trade-in.

I agree with Jokerx. I had an 02 Heritage that I loved. Same thing. Look the same as the RK. Rarely took off the shield. Even if you don't use the radio, it's there. The guages are there and cig lighter for acc's. Locking hard bags.

Change it up a bit, go SG. If you don't, no loss, both are sweet rides.

I have had 2 RK's in the past. Went with SG this time, don't think I will ever go back. I like the fairing and the tunes too much.

You can get cruise on the SG as well and for the cost of adding the detachable fairing to RK you could change the SG's passenger pegs to floorboards, although I prefer the pegs, and passing lamps.

For the price of modifying and adding the "versatility" to the RK you could add "versatility" to the SG. I rode both and was impressed with both but decided the fairing and radio were important enough along with the sleek looks of the SG to make my decision. Really can't go wrong with any Touring choice from Harley.
