We will be going on a ride starting Aug 1 to Grandfather Mountain, NC and the surrounding areas. Looking for route suggestions from Western MD.

 

I would suggest route 220 through Moorefield, Petersburg, Franklin WV then through Monterey VA down to Warm Springs where you can pick up Route 39 and take that through Goshen Pass and down into Lexington VA. Thats a nice 150 mile loop with lots of scenery and twisties.

 

That's what I'm talkin' about!!!! We are looking to do about 300 miles a day of "twisties" for about 8 days. Thanks!

 

I would also suggest route 321 from Boone NC to Bluff City or even to Bristol. The little piece of road would make Deals Gap pal in comparison.
Also, route 58 through Damascus and over Whitetop Mtn is a skill tester as well.
