I think black has its place on certain bikes. But IMO it has to be flat black and all black....not just here and there. Shiny black just looks plastic and cheap.
Unlike chrome, I don't think you can highlight a bike with black parts here and there. Or at least I haven't seen a bike yet done in a way that it looks good.
so your saying you think your fenders and tank look cheap and plastic? ya better get a denim paint job.

aha aha aha! Read the op's question: Is black the new chrome? Since There aren't too many chrome painted bikes out there....think it safe to say he was asking about parts . Not paint.

Black is a nice switch.......To each his own!................I would hope we ALL wouldn't rush out and do the same thing. The options are limited anyway. Either way you go, they both look good to me.
and like 'em both. I really think the black is easier to keep looking good than all the chrome, especially after I took the advice offered on this forum concerning PLEDGE.

Huh?????? Chrome is easy to keep looking good. Paint/black is PITA to keep up...Nice looking bikes by the way.....especially the red one.
