You should have 13" shocks on your ride now. IMO I wouldn't go lower than 12" because of the sacrifice in ride quality. I know you stated you did not want to go with a lowering kit but that is exactly what I would do. 12" shock has 2" of travel vs 3" on a 13". I just made the change to 13's on my SG and couldn't be happier. Planning on picking up a 2010 SG and will swap to 13's w/ lowering kit now that I have felt the difference in ride quality. Again, JMO.
I have an 06' Ultra...this weekend I am going to install the low profile shocks on my bike...lowering it around 1 inch....IMHO I rather use the shocks then the lowering kit........
The same shocks don't work on all those bikes listed in that add, just because they will bolt on doesn't mean they will work properly.
You should invest in a pair of Progressive lowering air shocks, that's what I use and they work great and you won't have to worry about getting a piece of junk off EBAY.
Looks like you have a lot in your bike already why skimp on one of the most important parts?
Call Howard at Motorcycle Metal (a forum sponsor) and get set up with some Ohlins. They are more money, but you will be able to lower your bike and WAY increase ride quality. I just put mine on 3 days ago and in just the couple hundred miles I've put on since am amazed by the difference!!

+1 on Howard and the Ohlins shocks. I originally bought a set of progressive 430 11 1.2" shocks, sold them and went with the 12" Ohlins and couldn't be happier. Don't waste your money on anything else......
You can also try Bitchin Baggers in Phx. They will shorten your shocks for what length you need. Up to a 2" drop. Great people to work with. http://bitchinbaggers.com/products/drop-shocks/
I put a set of progressive 440's - 11.5" on my '01 RKC and love them. So does the old lady.
I tried the lowering bracket for a while, but either bottomed out, or had to put enough air in that they rode too stiff. My wife and I are not that heavy either.
never tried the ohlins, so can't comment on them.
I am only 5'8", so I went with the short shock to get better flat footed. If you are tall enough there is no comparison for more travel to get a smoother ride.
