Road King fuel tank switch out question

Road King fuel tank switch out question
I have a 2000 RK carb. Tank has a ding in it that I am unable to pop out. I can get a 2003 fuel injected RK tank good price. Will it work if I plug one of the out let holes ?

Pingel makes a adapter kit just for that purpose......but the 03 should only have a one hole i thought. Because the 2 hole tanks are for the MM EFI and i thought the 03 had the Delphi. I could be wrong.
But pingel makes a adapter for a petcock and it also gives you a plug for the other hole.

just saw another problem. the console top bolt on the carb tank has a bolt socket on the fuel injected tank there is no where to secure the top bolt (below speedometer).
