Make sure you run 3.5 quarts of oil and not 4 quarts. Reroute breathers as many of us have. A little oil blow by after running hard is common. If it is "dumping" or "pouring" out then you have more to worry about.
Thanks guys, checked oil level on jiffy cold...... about 1/4 inch below full mark.Thats about right yes? Taking it to dealer Monday hope not to serious.
I think you have too much oil - should be half way between the full & low when cold. Had a freind with an 08 Ultra blowing oil everywhere on the way to Sturgis last year. He was checking it with the dipstick sitting on the edge, not inserted fully. Tow truck ride to Cheyenne, WY to Dealer, removed 3/4 of a quart. Didn't have a problem after that.
Start bike and bring motor up to temp. Check dipstick while on jiffy stand. Now see where it reads. Is it at the "Full" mark or beyond? If not, check oil lines on the motor. Did you add any covers to dress the engine up recently? Maybe a line is being pinched, but you would get an oil lamp indication and that usually would me not enough or the pressure is low because of a line being pinched. Hopefully nothing too serious if you haven't already found the issue.
