Default Security Code???
the default code when i bought my bike was the last 5 numbers of the vin.
knoing the manual bypass is a must. if you aren't comfortable with it, you should practice it until you are. once you get good at it, it only takes about 15 secs to input.

Mine was the same, last 5 of the vin.
Is there a default security code when the security system is first installed? I took my first ride last night since buying the bike new... well low and behold I left both keys and fops at home in the garage on the tool bench. Well got 20 miles from home, turned the bike off and instantly thought oh shiit
Lesson learned! In all my excitement to leave the dealer Wednesday and to ride last night... I don't know the code
but at least I had my owners manual with me so I could put the code in, that I didn't know

new here,,,, do all harley's have this,, what year did they start this,,, my 2004 heritage, has a flob,, but i can leave it 20 km away,, and bike still starts,,,but the flob does disable the bike when i push the button ,,,,so,,,does my bike have this feature,, and just not programed in.... or not available...
the proximity fob that is being discussed is a feature that was introduced in the 2007 model year. no, not all harleys have it, and yes, you do have a security pin as well. if you don't know it, i suggest you break out the owner's manual and follow the steps to set it to something that you'll remember. you just have to have the fob with you when you do it.
