Default Service Department Frustration!

I've not had my 09 Ultra but a few months and my local dealers service department has done a few upgrades for me. LED mirrors....LED accent lighting along the base of the windshield....hidden antenna in the fairing....well you get the idea. By the way I am learning how to do much of this stuff myself now! But it seems like every time i let them do some work for me I have a new scratch on my vivid black paint or some little something thats just not done right. I am wanting a chrome front end installed on my bike but I am scared to death how that might turn out!!! I am going to find me another dealer with a service department that would hopefully treat my bike like its their own. Is this possible and does anyone have any suggestions on how to determine if my new dealers service department is competent?

Good luck. I hope you have dealers closer then I do. My last service which was to change out both tires, took me three visits. After installation I returned home with both front rotor hot enough to fry eggs, took bike back. The third visit was a couple days later when my front end started wobbleing at 70 mph.
My local dealer decided because business has been bad, he is now closed on Sun. & Mon. Forget the rider who is traveling through central Pa. and needs service.
Bottom line is most Harley dealerships hire and keep mechanics during the busiest months then lay people off. As long as the dollar is the first and last priority service will hurt.
My local dealer is about 28miles away the next closest is two hours, and there is a Victory dealership closer then both.

Where you located at? That's the only way to get help about dealers around here. People will let you know about their sevice experiences.

BTW, you got a Vivid Black bike. It's gonna show everything, even when a bug farts on it.

Just to clarify I wouldnt call them a bad dealer overall. Their sales...parts...and chrome are first class. Nicest people you would ever want to deal with . Service is where they are lacking.

We still need a name and/or location to help you.

Your right but i gotta tell you there is too many good people there to call them out here. For the sake of staying friendly i have access to dealers in the eastern part of TN.....some of the dealers in driving distance are Colbach, Thunder Creek, Knoxville HD, SMHD, and even Bumpus... but they are a little further drive.

i've gotten to know most of the guys in the service dept at rte 66 hd in tulsa, and they do treat my bike as they would their own. it really helps a lot to establish a good working relationship with those who you deal with. i've seen people try to get stuff fixed when they come in with a pre loaded adversarial attitude. i deal with that tulsa store because of how i'm treated. makes me feel good when i come in, even to say hi, or to pick up some more chrome goodies, and they greet me with, hey Jim, how ya doing? sales, service, and parts, they're a great team.
