Finially decided to go with V&H Oval Slip-ons. But, before I buy i have a question. Now my question is, do I need to map also? Places that sell the product will tell you to. But is that because they are wanting to sell you more or is there a real need? The cost of buying what ever product out there costs as much as the slip-ons unless you find a used one. And there are many opinions about which one of those to get. I am a new rider with my first bike and I have many questions since I have nothing to base off of.
If you keep the stock air filter setup you should't have to remap. I am running the ovals on my 09 SG and I added the SE high flow kit and had the dealer flash the ECU (i.e., Stage-1). Together I spent approx $300. The ovals were approx $450 shipped to my door from easternperformance.com. I have no regrets.
I agree with eastside, but I would diffentely get the stage 1 air kit, it really makes a differnce, and it is probablly the cheapest horsepower post you can get, after that jump it seems to really cost you.
I Just went with the V&H ovals and Cobra Tuner SE Air cleaner, they told me that I would not need to remap but recommended I put the tuner on for best results.

Reason: Need to read the question better.
I have an 06 Ultra, I agree with the above posts. If you can swing it I would recommend adding the PCV as the bikes today run so lean from the factory. Stay clear of the Fuelpac from V&H, imo its all but worthless. Tossed mine for a PClll and love it. Do a search on this forum there is a ton od data there for the viewing.

What is a Cobra Tuner SE Air Cleaner and where can I find it and any info on it?
My dealer told me if I put any tuner on except a Harley tuner it would VOID my warrenty. I had a 3 run dyno done for $60 and found that I was running 13.2 nice and rich with just a set of Rinehart slip ons. Oh I could do this and I could do that but why it is running fine. I did not buy my Harley for speed I got it for comfort. No matter what I do to it there is always going to be a stock and cheaper metric bike out there that will blow by like I was standing still. I get about 44mpg the way it is.
