I have the tour pack mounted flag (clips under the lid) from HD. Disclaimer says "not for highway speeds." Seems to be ok, but has anyone had one mounted for an extended period of time?
I have run flags for better then highway speeds with no issues. I bought mine from HERE
I think that I paid $10.00 each for them, and I have had them for just over a year now.

I run mine from the same place, www.bikerflags.com , full time. I commute 60 freeway miles each way to work, and the flags last 2-3 months. Replacement flags are $3.50. Strangely enough, if you put one of the flags from bikerflags.com next to a real honest to goodness Harley-Davidson flag, the only difference you can see is that only one of them has "Harley Davidson" stamped in the pole. I guess that makes it worth more than twice as much.
Oh yeah, I also remove my flags and wash them occasionally.
I bought the H-D flag & mount for an FLH a number of years ago, rode with it all over th US (never in the rain) and it lasted for about two years before the flag became too frayed and had to be respectfully burned.
Message to "Teufelhunden" aka: Devil Dog- I just ordered one from the biker flag website. A great deal cheaper than from H-D (Hundreds of Dollars).
Thanks for the tip.
