Help with helment sizeing

I need help to find the correct size helment for a 10 year old girl. All I need is as approximation as I understand that different manufactures have different size charts.

Check out the size chart on the mfg's site. They will usually have you measure their head with a tape measure and then you'll get the right size.

I don't have a head to measure is the problem..

Nothing you can do then; if the helmet is going to fit you need an exact measurment. It really is the difference between life and death.

My guess would be an XS or a S, depending on how big she is. Just a guess.

definitely have to pick a helmet by trying it on.. different helmets fit different ways.. Arai fits a perfectly round head best, HJC and KBC fit long, skinny heads better, shoei fits my head really well.. which is close to round with big cheeks...

do NOT buy on the cheap - here head is worth more... buy from a shop that KNOWS how to size - it is very important - not only for saftey but comfort... nothing is worse than bad fitting helmet...

harley 0711 is right about fitment of the helmet. too lose and it'll be unsafe, too tight and it'll be something that will give her headaches, and she won't be wanting to ride because of it. please don't skimp out on a walmart, or rays mule rentals and helmet emporium type. get a good one. i hope you and her are going to have a great time riding that red motorcycle of yours. you're a lucky man indeed.
