Chicago HD called yesterday to say the bag was in but could not find any "good will" money from Harley. After several hours and many conversations with the owner of Chicago HD the parts guy calls back and says they found the money and to come get my bag.

When I ordered it they told me it would be $408.00 with discount. They did not tell me List price and I did not even look it up as I thought all was cool. When I get to the store my bill was for $562.10 minus the money from HD. WTF... The parts guy was super cool and said he knew I was gonna be pissed but that NO DISCOUNT for me came straight from the owner. I reminded him of the $408.00 price at order time and he remembered but said nothing he could do.

Needless to say that is one **** poor way to run a business. Keep in mind I have purchased 3 brand new bikes from this Jerk in the last 14 months. A 2009 BMW LT in April, a 2008 BMW RT in August and this Street glide last April. I must say all of my transactions prior to this one have been great. Mike at their BMW store is fantastic.

Anyone have any Idea why the owner felt compelled to drive away a good customer for a small amount of money like this? I am really having a hard time understanding this. The owner will not pick up calls or return calls so I am out of luck with trying to make this right.

Live and learn... there are prolly a few more bikes in my future and you can bet Chicagp HD weill not be on my shopping list.
sorry to hear of your problems but your misfortune can be a lesson for the rest of us (I am putting bolts in the bags the weekend) Chicago HD is pretty bad unless your doing a internet order and saving 20%. I used to take my V Rod there and when I bought my 2nd bike, I went with IL Harley based on the service dept and the general overall vibe I got there. If your near the city, IL Harley might be a better future choice.

Very possible or almost likely... I never tried to assign blame in this whole ordeal. I had had the bag off several times and was sure that is what happened the first time it came off. The second time we made sure all was right before I continued on my way to Oshkosh.
