Just for the sake of science, I'm, going outside, take the windshield off my RK,[sm=icon_cheers.gif] duct tape a 48 quart Igloo cooler to the handlbars, put 100k miles on it to see if it handles quicker a slow speed
I have to say that I rode an Ultra and then a Roadie, then an Ultra, then a Roadie......I bought a Roadie, but ride both and make up your own mind.

I guess it just depends on your type of "touring" if going to be blasting the twisties Road Glide hands down. If yor touring includes anytime stylin and profilin then EG is the way to go. I love the Road Glide but to me the sharknose looks to 70s porno star.
OK, so I stirred up the hornet nest. I've owned a lot of different HD models including a Sportster, a Dyna Low Rider, a FLHTCUI, a Road KIng Classic, and two Road Glides, and now even a 35th Anniversary Super Glide. I still have the SG and the '04 FLTRI.
That being said, I loved all those bikes for a lot of different reasons.......but the Road Glide is kinda like the old Sam Cooke song..."She may be ugly but she sho can cook"!
So all you doubters, take a ride over to the dealer and test ride a RoadGlide and decide for yourselves........
One good way to accomplish this is to do a Fly-n-Ride at a participating HD dealer. Some friends of mine and I flew to Phoenix....I rented a RG, the others FLHTCUI's. I let those guys ride my bike.....and dang near didn't get it back each time....and they all owned EG's back home. Two of 'em traded soon after we got home.
The other guy didn't want to give up his CB/intercom.....and his was dang near new.
I ride a Roadie. I love the classic looks of the Electra Glide. I could easily manhandle a bike with the combined weight of both put together. Why did I buy a Roadie? Just ride one......sit on the OTHER side of the fairing ( where you cannot see the ugly ) who cares what the front looks like? I have never seen the front of my bike going down the road. Is there a difference? HELL YES. Will it be enough difference for you to purchase something you already have doubts about? Who knows. I did not buy my scoot to win no popularity contests at the motorclothes boutique. I bought it to ride. If the shape of the fairing makes my ride more enjoyable...I dont give a damm if its shaped like an a$$.
