6000 miles is 42,000 in dog years.

Personally I don't see any reason why you can't (keep it for years and years). I've gone thru a few bikes in the last 5 years (different brands and styles with this '04 being my first HD) but I generally buy used or a left over previous year new....I really don't understand buying a new bike and then trading it a year or two later...although newer models might make a bit more power, etc. I don't see that as a motivating factor with HD (since you are already giving up a lot in that department to go with this style of bike and then yet again for the HD brand....although what you gain in styling, sound, etc. is worth it over the metric touring cruisers...IMO). I'm hoping my '04 will give me many many years of trouble free riding.

I traded bikes twice in the last couple of years, but I had reasons. I will own this SG for years and will probably have my Springer forever unless somebody falls, hits their head and offers me a ridiculous sum of money while they are dazed.

To me, 6,000 miles is just good and broken in (have 11,000 on my SG). If I was looking at used bikes, I wouldn't think mileage was a factor until it got over 20,000 as long as it was well cared for.

This new generation of H-D's with 6k on it isn't even broken in yet. They run well over 100k without a hiccup if you maintain it well. Easy to maintain, the fun factor is in the stratosphere and no other bike compares for class and style.

I guess I don't understand the question. Are you related to my wife? You seem to be speaking in a code of some sort.
