Default I can't believe how good these bikes are

Maybe this is not the place to post about how trouble free late model Harleys are but here's my story anyway. Took off 2 weeks ago, 6 Touring bikes and 2 Dynas. Rode through Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming. 2400+ miles most at well above the posted speed limits. We went through Glacier National Park and to Red Lodge Montana then over Bear Tooth Pass. We rode nearly all 2 lane twisty roads the whole way. I am the only one who reads this forum so the other guys didn't know their baggers would wobble at high speeds in sweepers. Ignorance being bliss nobody experienced said wobble. Amazing huh? My '07 didn't whine or rattle just purred like a kitten. Honestly I think these bikes, all twin cams, 2 2000 models, an '03, an '05, an '06, my '07, and 2 '08's, are beyond dependable. Most of the earlier bikes did have gear drive cams. No one had any problem at all, unless you count a Wyoming State Patrolman who said we were speeding but couldn't figure out who was riding in front or back when we pulled over. He just issued warning tickets. We thanked him. Just thought I'd post the other side of the story among all the horror stories and bitching about Harleys. We did over 19000 miles cumulatively with Zero problems and 100% fun!

I agree with you 100%. Sounds like you guys had a great trip. It's nice to hear from other than the whiners every now and then. I have been taking long trips on Harleys since the 1970s and never had one let me down in any way. I do think my 07 is a cut above though.

I have been around a lot of this country on several different types of bikes on have over 70,000 trouble free Harley miles. The later model HD's work very well overall. Like with anything you have some isssue here and there but overall a great product. I myself just finished a 6 day 3000 mile trip in the same roads and area of the country you were just on and some were in 110 degree heat( Eastern Oregon, Idaho) and the bike worked with out a hitch. Glad you guys had a good trip and enjoyed yourselfs.

Harley Davidsons have ALWAYS been quality motorcycles...although they used to require more PM....and a tad of TLC....glad you had a good trip...

Happy to hear you had a great ride. I'm on my third Harley and never had a problem with any and all I do is change the fluids and check the nuts and bolts.
