Default Windshield Keeps Coming Loose

I changed the windshield on my 06 Street Glide to a taller version. I also added the chrome trim piece to the bottom of the windshield. The left corner of the windshield keeps coming loose and I cant figure out why. I put the washers in the trim piece like the instructions indicated and this one side still seems to work loose after a short period of time. The screw does not come out but it does get loose enough to make the windshield vibrate at slower speeds. anyone have any suggestions or expierienced the same problem?

I'd say that side isn't set in properly. Wiggle the windshield while you tighten it up.
If it still doen't work replace that brass insert. It's a simple job or it's covered under warrenty if you want to go that way.

I wouldn't use lock tight (of any color) on the windshield screws.

you mite wanna try some fingernail polish on the screws,,, it will hold pretty good but is easy to break loose... you mite wanna check those faring mounts also,,, they are known to break

Check and see if the insert is coming out of the inner fairing on that side, i had this happen to my 06" Electraglide, the screw is tight but not holding the windshield firmly..

I used pipe tape. Very thin and easy to remove.

If you use loctite, you might want to let it dry before installing the screw. If the insert is coming out replace it with the new style that screws into the inner fairing.

You said chrome trim piece. I don't recall using washers on it. Now the bar and shield trim piece has shorter screws and uses washers. Did you buy an aftermarket windshield? Some of them are thicker than the OEM windshields. This may your problem. The solution may be longer screws?
