23k on my 08 and I can't tell the difference between it and my buddy's 09
.
Yeah, I'm the buddy he's talking about. I traded in my 06 Heritage, and my 06 Fatboy on an 09 Ultra. I have also ridin Tegsand's 08 Ultra & came to the following conclusions:
1. The 09 Ultra I bought handles a LOT better than both of the softails I traded... especially in the turns.
2. The biggest difference I've noticed between my bud's 08 Ultra, and my 09 is the seat. It's really surprising how much of a difference a seat can make. He has a mustang that he added...and I have the stock seat. If I had it to do over again, I'd have grit my teeth a bit harder & gotten a mustang, or a corbin. As far as handling goes they are both very close IMHO.
3 I look a LOT better on my bike than he looks on his. Pu$$y runs behind my bike trying to catch me...and he rides his to soup kitchens offering corn nuts to any hungry ladies who will get on his putt.

I can't imagine that an 09 can ride much better than my 07 with a stabilizer and a good set of shocks.
I'll never change for the little differance there REALLY has to be.
I may try and ride an 09, but for me it would be hard to imagine any stock 09 any better than my 06 SG with stablizer (true track), progressive 440 HD shocks and Race tech gold valve emulators on the front. I know I can really rip into the curves when I want to and it just eats it up smoothly. I cannot tell you the improvement over stock. The overall costs were not bad either as the emulators were put in when I chromed the front forks. Sometimes it worth getting the bike you got right, then ride..
BTW- All these adds were put on based on great advice by many forum members.

That's just wrong..........i stay back away so people don;t think I know you....I have a good reputation and want to keep it....?
the new frame i suppose is better, although i see nothing wrong with the frame on the 08 and earlier, and they've stood the test of time. all the salesmen want to push you out of a bike that you're happy with just so you can experience all the oohs and aahs of the new frame. thanks anyway, i can't afford to trade my bike off everytime some new gizmo comes along, i'm very happy with what i got. it works well and it doesn't **** me off, so i'm stickin with it.
LP...How do you know the Fairing brackets wont break on an 09??
I just found the clutch side silver bracket that goes to the front speaker busted at the speaker. Easy fix....the main bracket though will be a bitch if and when that cracks. .
