New touring frames
+1 on the vibraton. I can't compare my '09 Street Glide to another touring bike, but it does handle better in the twisties than my '00 Fatboy, but the Fatboy, with progressive shocks, handles sharp bumps better. The Fatboy stops smoother without the diving I get on the Street Glide. I think a heaver oil in the front shocks will cure that particular problem. The street Glide is really much more comfortable at highway speeds with the sixth gear. I really do like the '09 Street Glide, like others have stated, overall, it's the best handling Harley I've owned.
My reading of the new frame is that Harley has put a lot of effort into designing out many of the myriad number of parts the older frames needed, made it a lot stiffer and introduced improved engine mountings. That adds up to a serious improvement, so they should be a lot nicer to ride. Shame I am not in the market for one! So back to my seriously modified 1990.....
Had a 08 eg classic and now a 09 rg. Biggest difference is less vibrations (new mtr mounts) and more stable on high speed sweeper. Other than that hard to notice......oh yea. Cost more too!!!!
