I'm sure it has been bashed on here before, however I wanted to say it again...
Don't waste your money on Harley's POS touring model electronic dipstick.
I finally got fed up with inaccurate readings or no readings so I stuck my stock dipstick back in. The pisser is I still have one of HDs Softail analog replacement dipsticks which works great and was only about $30. This digital dipstick was around $135 !!
Sorry for the rant... Just didn't want anyone else to waste their money.
One edit: OBTW, I've got an "Oil Level and Temperature Dipstick with Lighted LED Readout - Chrome" for a 88" touring model for cheap. Best thing since the bread slicer...

Another bash here. Save your $$$. The digital level and temp dipstick is a real POS. Mine didn't make it 3 months before the screen went black. Replaced battery but that didn't work. Wish I'd bought the guage.

I ran that $30 analog gauge for around 10 years and it worked great. I wish I could get a $30 screw-in version for the RK. I didn't really want to blow that much money on the HD digital type. I have read some bad posts about it.
I guess i'm one of the lucky ones.Mine has been working for 3 years. But recently installed a marlin dash mount and cht sensor to make sure what my temps are.
If you want a very simple, durable, accurate and easy to read analog gauge for your bike this is by far the best I've seen. I've had mine nearly two years and it's outstanding. Very accurate also...
the dipstick is for dipsticks,it crapola and HD wont give you the $150(just a drop in the bucket)amount back when this thing craps out on you after the warranty of 3 months is out.Haarleys are a joke, but not funny one.

I bought the analog version because I went to the dealer and asked about them, and the parts guy told me not to waste my money on the digital version. You know they must suck when the HD guy tells you they do, instead of selling you one.
we must shop at the same place . parts guy told me the same thing when I whent to buy one for the wifes bike last week , bought the analog one instead , put one in the fairing on my Ultra
