Has anyone out there put exhaust wrap on their touring model to try to cut down on the heat? I was told it could crack the pipe if i do this dont know if this is true cause we do it on race car headers all the time.
I did it when I had a stock head pipe and slip-ons. No problems with cracking, and it did cut down on the heat quite a bit. Just put the chrome heat shields right over the wrap.
There's been a couple guys on this forum that did it and posted pics showing how. You might try a search to find the link. Both said it cut down the heat quite a bit.
