So I was riding today and I'm coming to a stop. Down shifted and went to put my left foot down, but my foot wasn't going anywhere. One of the loops on my laces got caught around the shift peg and I almost dropped the SG. I yanked my foot as hard as I could to get the damned lace unstuck. 4th time that has happened to me in the 2 weeks since I've had the bike. I tucked the laces inside my boot after I pulled off to retie them, but now I'm spooked and over these boots. Can anyone recommend a good, comfy pull-on boot with or without a zipper?
I have always tucked my laces in my boots,,,,habit from good ole uncle sam!
I have a pair of Bates lace to toe with side zip.....10 years old and love em! like wearing socks now. I tied em where the are comfy and double triple tied them so they won't come untied and tangle up somewhere they don't belong! never had an issue.

You must have some extremely over sized laces to do that...
4 times in 2 weeks! You must be a slow learner.lol I recall going down many years ago on a bicycle when my pants got eaten by the sprocket. That was enough of a wreck to make me pay attention to this day. Glue em, cutem, tape em just don't let em dangle.
I have the HD Sidestreet. Zip on the side, low shaft and comfy all day. I have large calves and these were the only low shaft pull on/zip up boot I could find that would fit my calves and were still comfortable.
My boots (HD, I know, but they're nice) lace and zip, but the top of the boot has a flap on the side for tucking in your laces. What do the guys who ride in sneakers do? Oh that's right, their sneakers have their laces removed.
From: Creektown aka Lower Alabama, but not that low
if you like your boots, but want to keep the laces in control, I can recommend the "sweet spot" elastic like they use with soccer cleats. Goes over the laces to make a smooth surface to contact the ball. They might work on your boots. www.soccer.com search for sweet spot. Available in all colors...
I recommend Double H Boots - They Have several styles of "Biker Boots" and they are MADE IN THE USA ! I wear their Engineer Style (Square toe with the Ring and Strap) Very Comfortable and the most durable boots I have ever owned !
I have yet to find a pair of "slip-on" boots that fit as nice as lace-ups.
I use longer laces on my boots, then cross them, wrap them around and through the rear pull-up strap (where they cross again), then back to the front where I tie them. This gives a snug fit with a small bow that is up and out of the way.
