This may seem like a left feilded question so I'll go ahead and ask it.
I have the 1989 FLHTP touring model and there's a few things I will need to change like wheel bearings and seals, speedo drive, stereo mostly just small stuff and also I will be redoing the motor, but to the main question which is will all FLH parts for ordering purposes from the same year or close to 1989 fit on my model for the 1989 FLHTP? A very good example is the speedo drive, I would think a 16" front wheel on the FLH models would use the same gear ratio but maybe a bit differnt spacing.
Also is there a site available to find the OEM part numbers for refernce?
If I were you I would keep an eye on Ebay for a factory parts manual. I'm sure they pop up every now and then. I got one for my FXR for $20 and it's a very valuable resource on a model that is obsolete or unique.
