I will be retiring at the end of November and moving back to the States after 10 years working outside the country. My wife and I will be settling somewhere between the Springs and Denver and, since I'm selling my Ultra here in Europe, I'll be in the market for a new bike - I kinda like those new Ultra Limiteds!
Who in the area do you like dealing with, and who do you avoid? Enquiring minds want to know...
We've also found local HOG chapters a great way to make quick connections in our different moves. Would love a recommendation there, too.

Thanks in advance.
You have quite a few to choose from: Colorado Springs Harley, never dealt with them. Rocky Mountain: when Vinnie ran it it was cool now his ex is boss it's not the same, Mile High in Aurora cuts some deals at times but a lot of us boycott the place because of employee treatment. Freedom gets bad rapped a lot but new General Manager and service guys are trying to get back to the real world, I get great treatment there but I know them. High Country in Fredrick is a big dealer has a ton of stuff, never bought a bike there though. Thunder Mountain was, maybe still is, selling at or under MSRP. Lastly Sun in Thornton will usually cut a great deal but likes to show you the book of what's coming in and you buy in advance. They will have a few bikes on the floor. Talk to Rick at Sun, it's hard to beat his deals, but again I know these guys.
I'm a looonggg way from Colorado, but for what it's worth.......after seeing an ad on ebay a few years ago for Sun HD, I've bought a number of things from them and they've treated me very well
I'd recommend dealing with Rocky Mtn HD. Shop the others first and then go to them. They are hungry to sell bikes. Rumor is they may be getting closed by HD due to too many dealers in the area. Said part is, they have the friendliest staff in Denver, a great store, and a great location.
I got a much better deal from Rocky Mtn HD than the dealer I Road Captain for. Pissed me off, but hey, business is business.
Bought mine at Mile High and I can't say enough good things about them. See Rich. My Dad bought his at Sun. No complaints there either. I don't have much experience with anyone else.
There are 2 HD dealers in Colorado Springs. Both owned by the same person. But, the staff at each is very different. I prefer Colorado Springs HD on Powers Blvd. No high pressure sales. Pikes Peak HD is on Nevada Ave just off the I-25. Bigger selection of bikes on the floor. If you go south on I-25 there is Outpost HD in Pueblo. It's only about 30-45 mins south of Colorado Springs. I don't have much experience with them. Just thought I'd give you the options. Good luck on your move back to the good ol' U.S. of A. Colorado Springs does have a local HOG chapter.
I really don't care for the 2 HD dealers in the springs. I have been to outpost several times and they are very easy going. But its a small dealer - few Bikes compaired to Pikes Peak HD off Nevada.
But - if your going after a new bike - shop around the entire US - there are deals to be made and hey - a 2000 mile breakin ride would be a fun start to that retirement.

I am in New Mexico, but when I was in the market for a new bike I went to Montrose Co dealer Black Canyon HD. One of my friends lives there and another friend and I ended up getting a real good deal on a couple of Ultras. I will buy from them again. Great people.
Sounds like several good choices, thanks to all for the advice.
genedjr, that's how I got this current Ultra - did an Iron Butt SS1k with only 10 miles on the odo! What a great bike, but it's worth more here used than a new one costs in the States (I brought it over with me on this assignment), so I will have ridden it 3 years for free - not a bad deal.
