Gordon65 and Airborne06 how did you guys make out and what was the problem?
I sold the bike. An 09 Ultra with under 10K shouldn't burn oil. The bike was never abused, and was broken-in according to the OEM instructions. HD corporate continued to claim 1 qt/1000 miles was "within normal limits". We all know that is b.s. Anyhow, out of my last 4 Harley's in a row, this was the only one that had engine issues. What an expensive and frustrating mistake (I had $5K in "stuff"...nothing engine related though)...I should have just kept my 03 . I have other bikes to ride (non-Harley), so I'm taking a break from HD for awhile to see what they may come up with in 2012. Regardless, Tampa HD will NOT be my first choice of dealerships...they were very "obstructionist"...I had to be my own advocate with HD corporate. I suppose I should have expected that...
