I've had a TMAXauto tune for many months and totally love it, but now n then scoot will start and idle for few seconds then die....It'll restart and run fine afterwards.hmmmmmm
Yeah, I've done the IAC cal many times, and about once a month I'll hook her up to the laptop and reset her learning buffer, plus check for updates.....All looks perfect on my learned fuel adjustment logs.....
no doubt I have correct map cause she never needs to learn very much between read/write sessions.
My scoot is a '07 touring with only 8K so I doubt I have any issues related to fuel sys or throttlebody.
I'm just wondering if other TMAX owners experience same idle glitch on occassion?
Yeah, I've been going through it myself. It's just a cold idle issue for me, once the bike is warm it runs great. Problem started when I installed Andrews cams over the winter. I've checked for intake and exhaust leaks, tried different base maps, tried writing learned IAC offsets, clearing learned IAC offsets, ditto on learned fuel adjustments, etc... I think I've tried about everything.
I've run log files and sent them to Zippers, they tried for a while but have been very little assistance. As I would try things I would report back to them before trying something else. They don't even bother to return my e-mails now. I'll be seeing some of them Friday, I plan on stopping by their display in Rapid City. If they can't figure it out, fine, own up to it, but don't ignore me.
Only dies on cold start...and then not EVERY time.
Warm starts - no problem.

Will show this post to mechanic as he has been stumped also.
You are definitely not alone. What's even more strange for me (and Stro I think) is that cold starts when the air temp is < 80 is fine. It's the cold starts when the air temp is warmer that is the issue. A couple of weeks ago we had morning temps in the low 70's and no issues. Fire up to go home after work in the upper 80's and it would cough and spit for 30 seconds or so then be fine. I might have a leak somewhere (especially since my MPG sucks with it leaned out to over 14:1), but it will just have to wait until I do my motor build this fall.
I don't think it's faulty hardware or software....i really don't think it's the fault of the Thundermax...I've been reading and it seems like a dirty IAC sensor will cause it....I'll find the IAC sensor, clean it and get back to all here.

I'm also thinking it's only those cooler days this happens, so maybe I need to pause to do the IAC cal whenever it's cooler outside. I might park the scoot in the house and drop the A/C to stiff nipples mode then do a IAC cal.
