Just got home from Mn. to Sask Canada with a new to my 06 ultra classic with 10006 miles and 3 years of extended warranty....have some running around to do to get it safetied for insurance etc. and then it is time to ride....
Sadly have to sell the 06 lowrider to pay for this, but whoa...this thing seems awesome....looking forward to joining the touring gang!
Cheers,
Randy
Bet you won't miss the low rider too much... the baggers are way more fun to ride than most expect!
Once you get all your paperwork done, it'd be great to see a post on what it took to import a bike from the US to Canada. There are some ridiculous bargains to be had just across the line for sure.
If you rode her home you should by now know you made the right choice.
There must be 20 guys who have rode my King and kicked themself in the ***** for buying softtails and dynas instead of an FL.
They alway say the same thing, "God, it handles like it's a feather. The front end don't wanna flop over going slow and it feels like it only weighs 200 lbs!"
Congrats on the new bike, I agree, you won't miss the dyna......ride while you can, they say we're getting one badass winter up here, this year.
cripula, it's pretty easy to bring a bike across the border, as long as it's built in the US, Canada or Mexico. The border needs 72 hrs notice that you are coming across, then there is a fee that you pay, show them your paperwork, fill out some forms and that's pretty much it.
Wish I rode it home....watched it in my rearview mirror for many, many hours......
When I get some sleep now after the drive and excitement, and all RIV (import) paperwork done I will post some pics and process.....cheers!
good for you randyS. sounds like you got a great ride there. i traded off a couple of dynas to get into my current ride, and it's a whole lot better if you wanna get some quality riding miles. your ultra has to be a "grand" ride indeed. more smiles per mile when you're glidin' on a touring bike. and you got the best.
