Just got mine in today. The packaging was fine but I noticed the black paint quality of the top of the tour pack was sub-standard. It appeared someone had wax the top of it to attempt to rub out the imperfections and they of course did not rub out. I hate to say it but it looks like a return unit put back out for re-sale. Also the spoiler had small imperfection. I have a called into them and hope to hear back and hopefully they will do the right thing to make it right.
For those of you that have bought one "how was your paint quality" and their customer service. I am not expecting mircles for the price they are offering but I do not want to put it on my bike like this.
I got one with the same problems. When I called them the guy offered to give my credit card a $10 credit for some compound to rub out the problem spots. I asked him to send me another and he said there would be no guarantee the new one would be any better. He said they all come in to them with some kind of problem. I figured I got what I paid for and just put it on the bike. Scratch it up as another one of those live and learn things.T.
Good luck with it, I had one on my metric cruiser. The rubber seals come off and the latches are delicate at best. Mutazu has always been a little lax in customer service. I had the JM bags also and they were crap from the beginning.
But with all that said, they are not bad for the money. Just dont use the latch to PULL the top down on the tour pak. I am making the assumption that you bought the VIP tour pak like the one in this photo.
Be careful how you bolt it on. After 1 year I noticed it was rattling alot and found cracks all over the bottom. I am actually surprised it was still holding the wife on the back seat.

For 110.00 you can't go wrong. I know the quality is not going to be at the Harley level, but I can do a few things to make it stronger and more durable. i will put some metal sheet on the base of it from Lowe to bolt it down unto a Milwaukee bracket. i will do a couple of things with the hinges. None of this cost much. I don't plan to use it much except for some longer travel now and then.
My main concern at this point is only the paint quality and what other purchasers have been thru.
Well they got back with me and recommended I tried to rub it out and they would give me 20 dollars discount. Well I was pestimistic at first but decided to try. I used some HD wax for swirles and after about 6 applications it came out looking like new.
I can say now it looks like new and now have a tour pack for 90.00. Not a bad deal. Off to Lowe's to pick up a few things to improve it's durability and it should be ready for some travel.
You can't complain too much, you get what you pay for. They are only $110 right, I guess they figure a shabby product and crappy customer service is worth that much.

Glad to hear you solved their problem. I've had mine for 3+ years and always considered the Mutazu to be excellent value for my application which is occasional use without a passenger or luggage rack.
IIRC, I used 1/4" large diameter stainless washers and rubber/neoprene washers to spread the load at the mounting holes and help with vibration.
