As it has been said.. you often get what you pay for. I used one on a metric bike for about a month, cheap latch and hinges... paint looks looks like some one learning to spray paint, looks good from a distance. But it held together until the metric bike's cargo rack broke. I've got one sitting here if someone wants it really cheap, like a 12 pack of Shiner... it's yours. best regards, Bill
Some truth to your statement, and you do get what you pay for, but I have spent alot more and have gotten a lot less out of the products and Customer Service on other items that were suppose to be of high quality (HD, KURY). Just look at the recent thread about Headquarter. They do not even take phone calls unless pushed and their products are in the thousands. Just read some of the nightmare stories of others who have spent on this forum alone.
I would say they at least they did call back (and e-mailed) and made an offer that I was willing to consider. They were willing to send me a new one or return the one I had in the event things did not work out. i do not want them to get a bad rap. They do have a alternative product to put on the market that satisfies the needs of many.
Not bad given they cannot be making that much on these items anyway. They even included free shipping on the original purchase and were willing to pay the return fee. So really I got my tour pak for 60.00. Many would say this is not a bad deal.
Well they got back with me and recommended I tried to rub it out and they would give me 20 dollars discount. Well I was pestimistic at first but decided to try. I used some HD wax for swirles and after about 6 applications it came out looking like new.
I can say now it looks like new and now have a tour pack for 90.00. Not a bad deal. Off to Lowe's to pick up a few things to improve it's durability and it should be ready for some travel.
bahaha funny i did the exact same thing on mine for my 03 heritage, I also strapped the backpack shoulder straps around it when I put a backpack on top of it and this solved my concerns about it possibly unlatching on the highway. if you want something for occasional trips you cant beat it for the money.
