Default Mods to FLTR I've made.

Just returned from a 4955 mile 21-day ride, and I have some reviews to report back with:

1) Corbin Dual Tour with backrest. Great seat. I had been a little unhappy with the angle/position of the backrest. Enev with the adjustment bolt all the way in, it leaned too far back. Finally stopped at the General Store in Seligman, AZ and bought a bolt that was a quarter inch longer - problem solved for under a buck!

2) Clearview windshield - huge improvement over the tall HD windshield. Really reduces the mind buffeting and noise in my ears.

3) Soo's kit for the floorboards - that little extra is perfect.

4) Cruiserworks boots - riding, hiking, walking were just great. Rode in heavy rain. My feet stayed completely dry. Now the wife wants a pair.....

5) Dunlop Elite3 tires - put these on right before we left. Rode in rain, heavy sleet, rocks, geavel, dirt, mud, fresh oil. Excellent traction, handling. Sing on eastern Washington hiways, which was alarming until I realized what is was.

6) Bagger Brace - absolutely the best $ I've spent on the bike. Has saved me thousands of $, as it makes my '07 handle like a new one.

More later......

Thanks for reporting back on those items - I've been contemplating a Corbin seat for a while and it's good to hear a favorable endorsement.

I am also taking notes Teach. Sounds like a great trip and part of the one I took last spring. I hope you stopped at the Snow Cap Drive-In and enjoyed one of those shakes and burgers. My brother and I made a 3500 mile loop last year out west and can't wait to do it again. Great report on the additions.

I'm glad it all is working out for you.

I might disagree with one part though. I have a 9 1/2" Clearview with Recurve windshield and with all my deflectors and Lowers I have virtually no buffering at all. However I do seem to have lots of wind noise in my ears at speeds above 65, it is quite bothersome.

I am constantly trying different shields and have found a coupls of shields better for wind noise, but none compare enough to the no head buffering I get from the Clearview.

Already got some Hein Gerecke boots, brace, elite 3's, stock seat fine. Now the Clearview windshield that's interesting. I checked out the website, first i'd heard of them. Stock windshield is pretty much ok but if i get some money to burn in the future i might try a clearview.

the bagger brace attaches to the trans oil pan and prevents sideways movement of the drivetrain and swingarm.
