could you find someone with a nighttrain who would prefer the chrome engine covers rather than his wrinkle black? that might be a much cheaper alternative if you could live with wrinkle black rather than shiny powdercoat. just a thought.

p.s., you might want to keep a flashlight handy so you can find your bike at night though. that'd look mighty sharp, all blacked out like what you're suggesting.

I did my king with gloss black. The other thing is rather than buying all new parts I powdercoated all of my existing stuff. Anything that would fit in an oven I did myself and the bigger things I had done at a pc place about an hour from me. It probably cost me less than $500 total. Just a thought.

the touring stuff is different, the engine covers are not the same......

that's one route I am looking at, I figured I can do that with pretty much all of it. The only parts I'd buy then would be the street slammer bars and the engine covers. I would only buy the engine covers because I want them to match the rest of the motor
