I know it has been beaten to death, but what do your wives think about the lowers in summer. Does it help them with the heat to have them off or not. I get hot, but it burns her up even riding. So has your better half felt any improvement when you remove them?
lol, thank you for the reply, just not what i am looking for. We rode 8 hours yesterday in 95 degree heat and it was pretty hard on her. I like her riding with me.
I like mine on. Being a trike without lowers just looks funny.
I removed the air dam adjustment doors. One bolt and they come right out with a little persuasion.
Lowers stay on, glove compartments are intact, feet aren't blown off the boards and a ton of air moved to the motor and riders and a loose door will close by itself so you don't have to check them every time you dismount.
Had someone tell me to get the Kuryakyn passenger pegs, it would make her more comfortable and keep her feet cooler. (Must be one hell of a product since she rides her own bike.) But seriously they did look like they might help.
My lowers come off mid April and don't go back on until mid October. According to my wife, it makes a big difference. Much more air getting to her legs. Even more when my feet are on the highway pegs. She still gets a hot leg from the rear cylinder pipe coming out the right side. Already have the PCIII, HD premium oil cooler, and free'r flowiing slip-ons. All that helped but not enough to satisfy her. So poor me, I have to get true duals now!
