Bought the dealie today, but the instructions for installing the cigarette lighter receptacle in the side cover don't seem to match up with the side cover of an '09. Anyone else encountered that? I want this unit for charging my GPS and laptop in the tour pak on trips without using the fairing mounted receptacle. This is the unit I bought.. http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_CA
That plugs into the accy switch lead that is under the seat in front of the battery. Not sure if it is long enough to reach the tour pack, may need to lengthen it.
I mounted one on mine and you're right, the instuctions aren't as good as they could be. Mine mounted on the left side but using the template puts it very close to the seat. Still workable but it makes it tight. There's a small amount of room to move it around. Once you line everything up you'll see what I mean.
Thanks RogerF. I have to mount mine on the right cover due to Cruise Control ... Can you post a pic of the final instal so I can see where on the cover you ended up putting it?
