Let me start off by saying you guys are alright in my book. Sure, we have a few resident a$$holes and smart a$$es, but usually its all in good fun. I poke my head into the Sporty forum once in a while, just to see what's new and check out stuff for the Iron. It seems like every time I go in there, there is another thread that starts, "Do you wear xxxx when you ride?" Its been everything from HD shirts to chaps, bandanas, you name it. There are a couple dudes over there that jump righ into the poser thing, or the "I'm too cool for this or that" You'd think a few of them ride naked or something, cause they are too cool to wear anything. Its unreal to me....Anyway, just wanted to rant a bit to my bagger buddies. Maybe its the age difference....
Okay I'm confussed am I the a$$hole or am I the smart a$$ ?
I remember the softail section over there while I was riding the Fat Boy. My favorite story is we were having a great back and forth converstion about riding and how great our bikes were, giving advice to some other guys about our experiences. I mean this was going on really long for the softail side and then this guy who had been a major contirbuter in the conversation giving advice says: "Well I haven't riden it over 45 mph yet though". WWWWHHHAAATTTT ???????? I spit my coffee all over my monitor.
He was an expert on the forums, giving advice and he had never ridden over 45 mph. I still think about that and get a good laugh.
As I remember assless chaps and fingerless gloves is always a big topic over there too.
