It has to help in getting rid of some of the heat. a crossover pipe under the oil pan seams like a bad idea. Didn't really like it at first but it does grow on you. I'm really starting to like the look. 2 into one does out perform duels.
I prefer two pipes myself. One thing I don't get with the 2010 FLHX , Harley goes to a two into one which is a better performance pipe, yet the torque values for 2009 and 2010 are the same 92.6 ft lbs @ 3500 rpm. The 2010 look probably isn't as appealing as the 2009 as a lot of people have posted yet the torque is the same. Harley should have thrown on a Fatcat on there before they shipped it.
I like the way 10 looks. But.. i own an 09 and i like it too...I've got the RH slipons and think they sound great! The 09's do look better IMO. Not sure why they did this on the 2010 SG. Guess time will tell what's up with the change.
Yeah, but we're talking about a stock bike though.
I am just saying HD is following those that have performance mods. It is nice to know that that they follow the the ones that have taken their bikes to the next level.
I had RH slip ons on my 07 glide, but after riding a buddy's bike with a 2 into 1 I was sold on the better performance. I have a Bub 7 2 into 1, and it is the best perf mod I have made tot he bike by a long shot. I've gotten used to the look of the 2 into 1.
I don't know why HD f*cked with it in the first place. Many people perfer the look of two pipes in the first place. They just swapped out the slip ons and were very happy. Those that wanted a 2 into 1 can switch it out if they wanted. I was in the dealer nto to long ago and there were 5 guys in there looking at a new one with the 2 into 1 and were bitching about the looks and that it was going to cost them even more money to install a dual setup rather then just replace the mufflers for a little more growl. I quess the aftermarket is laughing because they are going to make alot more money now since more people will be going with a complete dual setup on the newer scooters.
