I've had no problems at all with the OEN tires, but when it's time to change will go with the Elite III. of course, I want balckwall, hate cleaning the white.
Hopefully they'll come out with a wide white wall.
I think coming out with a WW E3 would be counterproductive to Dunlop's bottom line. Most of the riders who must have WW's are running D402's, which wear out faster, so if Dunlop starts selling WW E3's many will switch. Longer tire mileage means fewer tires sold, and tooling up for WW would cost even more money. Also, if you'll look on the Dunlop site in their Fitment Guide there are no E3's that show up on the list of recommended tires, so I think they would prefer that we stay with the stock model so we'll be more frequent customers. Thus, I wouldn't hold my breath for WW's or replacements for the D407/D408. Just my 2˘.
The E3 was originally designed for GW's to address tire-wear complaints, and many riders were going to other brands over the stock Dunlops (forget the model). E3's have been getting rave reviews from the Wingnuts and now the HD crowd is joining the bandwagon. Since there are sizes that are very close to stock for '08 and earlier HD's, I can only assume that's to satisfy the needs of other brands that use the same size.
