WOW! That's one huge seat. It better be comfortable, cause it ain't winning any beauty contest. But the older I get, the more comfort takes the lead to beauty. And what's that they say about "Beauty's in the eye of the beer holder".....

When I did my one day ride in service back in the mid 90's, they gave me a little tour of the facilities before starting on my seat. One of the things that Russell made of a point of showing me was one wall back in their shop. I was wall papered with Corbin stickers (and there was a "bunch" of them!) from all the folks who had sent in their Corbin seats to be converted by Russell Cycle Products!

I'm not dissing Corbin here but I did think it was funny at the time. I've meet a lot of folks that really like their products. I've also met a number of them that were not satisfied with Corbin. I've been sitting on Russell conversions since 1988 and I've only talked to one individual, either in person or on the Internet, that stated they were not satisfied with the day long saddle. I imagine that there are more than that in reality but I'd think that after 21 years of talking to folks about Russell's products, I'd have run into more than one! Ugly or not, I think that speaks volumes for the quality of their product!

FWIW!
Ride Safe,
Steve R.

I have been thinking of getting one for my Ultra for some time now.Going to do it.Thanks for the coments. The half moon looks fine to me.If you are more than a block rider I don't think the looks matters all that much.Though I think it looks fine. Some must suffer for style.

I'm sure you'll like the seat. On the style aspect, I kind of understand the nay sayers point in come cases. I think the Day-Long saddles look does lend itself better to the full dress tourers like the EG's. My previous bike was a Honda ST1100. It's a sport/tourer who's stock seat followed the lines of the bike very well and as such, complimented it. The Russell conversion does not. The wings of the seat do look a bit out of place on this bike. Since I'm much more interested in comfort than looks in this case, it was never an issue for me. One complaint I'd heard from others with this style of bike is that the wings of the seat made it harder for them to lay off the inside of the bike while riding twisty roads aggressively. I'm sure that's probably true but I don't ride that way so it was never an issue for me. To each their own!

Good luck with your seat when you get it and Ride Safe,
Steve R.

I think the term seat is an understatement. I was going to ask if that was made by Lazyboy...

As long as your arsh is nice and comfortable I guess that is most important. I picked a seat mostly for looks.

good luck.

Not that there's anything wrong with that of course...
