Default Screamin Eagle pipes....

Was wondering what year slipons on can put on my 2009 Street Glide?Does it have to be 09'? Been looking at CVO Screamin Eagle mufflers.

Man, that is a good question. All of the HD catalogs list '09s as different, but other manufacturers don't. I am waiting for an answer on this myself.

I suspect that the HD slip on's for 09's have a cat in them to get EPA approval. Other slip ons will fit, they just are not EPA approved.

I put the 80732 SE performance street mufflers on my 09 Ultra. The sound is just right.... not too soft and not too loud.. Plus they look great

No cats. that I know of.

The 09's have an extra "dent" to allow clearance, something to do with the new frame. I'm not aware of any other difference.

Kind of figured that was it with the different frame and such, but have never seen the '09 pipes next to any others.

the dent thing is correct theres a clearence issue on the axel nut with some pre 09 slipons many have simply applied a hammer to make room for the axle nut and claim succes with the dent not visiable on the frame side .

There aren't any cats in the '09 CVO tailpipes - they moved them to the headers ahead of the crossover pipe. I'd be willing to bet the length and mounting brackets are probably different than previous years. The frame changed and the headers are a new design (shorter ?) for '09 touring bikes.

I have an 09 SG with SE slip ons from a 08 RG and the guy got them from an 07 RG so I think the lenght and mounting is the same for several years. I had no issue installing them, 10 minutes. They are black and will be for sale in a couple days when my thunder header arrives. $150 plus shipping.
