Will the 6 gallon tank fit on an 01 Road King?

Well, the 6 gallon tank came out on the 08 bikes with the older frame. I would think that it would work, but you would need a seat for an 08 or newer bike along with maybe a modification of the rear mounting point for the tank.

 

Nope. Sorry. I looked into it for an 07 RG. The mounts are different.

 

The short answer is NO! Can you make it work? Probably.... It's just a matter of whether or not the extra gallon is worth the time and expense of doing it. It's the first question I asked when the 6 gallon tanks came out, and my friendly parts guy laughed and said, "what do you think?" "Of course not!" But I'm still sure you could MAKE it work.

 

Thanks all. Just trying to get 6 cents out of a nickel.... About to have my bike repainted and found a very small, almost unnoticeable dent in my tank and thought this would be a good time to kill 2 birds with one stone.
