Had Stage 1 done by local dealer late last year with Rinehart TD, PC and Dyno tune.
Just noticed that right side muffler under saddlebag is beginning to get a gold/yellow tint. Left side does not show this.
Talked to dealer and the comment was that this is a result of the extreme heat on the right side. Happens sometimes/sometimes doesn't but surely not warrantable.
Does this make sense? Makes none to me from a logical standpoint, but, I'm not much of a mechanical type. Any comments regarding this issue would be appreciated. Thanks!
Sounds like you are running a little lean, could be an exhaust leak. im not too savy with the tuning stuff but i guess it could have something to do with the fuel map they installed too.
i have seen the black endcaps turn a weird color on the rhinehart duals but never the muffler itself. I think you might be running really lean or really rich. contrary to common belief you can discolor the pipes running too rich. by the way if the endcaps discolor they ARE covered under rhineharts warranty. maybe the muffler is covered also... cant hurt to call and bug them.
I suppose it could be running rich but i think that the exhaust gasket would be the first place i started considering you had the pipes put on fairly recently and the other muffler isnt discoloring.

either way i think there is a problem with the a/f ratio on the bike. and the right pipe gets more exhaust through it as a default of the design of the header pipes
Rinehart will take care of it if you have the receipt and it is less than a year old. I had one of my end caps turn white @ 11 months and they sent me a new one. They told me that they had some known chrome and powdercoating issues in a particular batch. Maybe you got one of the bad chrome ones. It can't hurt to call them they were very helpful and nice to me.
